Plans
Understanding satellite internet plans
Plans, prices and promotions change often and depend on the provider and your location, so we do not publish them here. This page explains how plans differ and what to ask before you choose one.
Where plans tend to differ
Use this as a checklist when comparing any two options.
| Topic | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Speed | Quoted speeds may be typical, maximum or a range. Ask which one, and what you can expect at busy times. |
| Data | Some plans include a set amount of priority data and slow down after it. Others work differently. |
| Latency | The delay before data flows differs between system types and matters for calls and gaming. |
| Equipment | You may buy or rent equipment, and the cost, warranty and return terms vary. |
| Installation | Some services are self-installed and others use an installer. Costs and responsibilities differ. |
| Contract | Commitment length, price changes after a promotional period and early cancellation fees all vary. |
| Portability | Some plans are tied to one address. Others allow movement or travel, sometimes with limits. |
| Support | Know who handles support, how to reach them, and what is covered. |
Before you agree to a plan

- All one-time fees, including equipment and installation
- Taxes and any other recurring fees
- The contract length and early cancellation terms
- Data limits, speed reductions and priority policies
- Return, refund and warranty terms for the equipment
